The unveiling of the statue comes as rumors about the real identity of Satoshi Nakamoto have once again surfaced following a recent HBO documentary titled “Money Electric: The Bitcoin Mistery.”

However, most of the crypto community found the movie’s findings unconvincing. The picture claims that Peter Todd, a Canadian software developer who was one of the first contributors to the development of Bitcoin, is actually Nakamoto himself.

The timeline doesn’t really match given that Todd only started contributing to Bitcoin in 2011, almost 4 years after the issue of the Bitcoin whitepaper. Also, writing and code analysis indicate that their writing and coding styles are very different.

Unfortunately for the Canadian, the movie’s accusations have led him to become a person of interest for many reasons. This led to Peter Todd having to go into hiding for his safety.
