  • About one-third are file system repairs, mainly related to bcachefs, but also include some other changes.
  • The remaining third is other miscellaneous changes, such as architecture updates, core network improvements, self-testing, io_uring subsystem updates, header file repairs, and more.

A large number of patches to the bcachefs file system

The bcachefs file system has received a large number of patches and fixes in this version, including: repairing debugging assertions, repairing sb-downgrade verification, improving error handling, lock mechanism improvement, code refactoring, etc. (For specific patch list, please refer to the original text). These improvements submitted by Kent Overstreet enhance the functionality, reliability and organization of bcachefs.

Test Linux Kernel 6.10 RC2

Users can download RC2 from the Kernel.org website or Linus Torvalds' Git code base for testing. Torvalds notes that RC2 is usually smaller, but only then do people start to discover regression problems (error or vulnerability). He encourages the community to continue testing and report any issues encountered. Please note that these development versions are not used in production systems.
