How to create a smooth picture sequence playback effect?
Many application scenarios require simulated video playback, but the material is not a video, but multiple pictures. Direct replacement of the image path can easily cause black screen or lag due to differences in image loading time. This article provides an efficient and smooth solution.
Simple loading of pictures one by one is prone to delays, so we adopt a better solution: splice all pictures into one large image. Assuming the images are the same size, splice them horizontally into a long picture. Then, use the background-position attribute of CSS and @keyframes animation to control the offset of the background image to achieve image switching.
For example, there are three 500x300 pixel pictures, and after stitching, we get a long picture of 1500x300 pixels. The following CSS code implements picture loop playback:

The key is to accurately calculate the offset of each image and write it into @keyframes . The playback duration is adjusted according to the number of pictures and the required speed. This method is simple and efficient, avoiding the delay problem of loading one by one, and achieving smooth picture sequence playback.
