Thankfully, with the Mail app on Mac, you can now recall sent emails—provided you move fast enough.
By default, the grace period for recalling an email is 10 seconds, but you can tweak this setting in Mail preferences to give yourself more time if needed.
How to Recall Sent Emails on Mail for Mac
It’s always good to understand how the ‘recall email’ feature works ahead of time, and luckily, it’s quite straightforward:
Compose and send your email as usual.
Once you’ve sent the email, keep an eye out for the “Undo Send” button in the bottom-left corner of the main Mail window and click it.
You’ll have 10 seconds to click the “Undo Send” button to cancel the email.
And that’s it—simple and effective. Just remember, timing is key.
If you’d like to extend the time window for recalling emails, you can head to Mail > Preferences and adjust the delay duration in the Mail settings for Mac.
