Hibernate exists as a means of object persistence. The so-called O/R MAPPING is actually persistence. Because objects and relationships are just the relationship between an individual and a collection, there is no conflict in nature. No mapping required. In fact, in most cases, an object in memory exactly corresponds to one or more records in the relationship. It doesn’t even require conversion. The concepts are identical and there is no mapping. Another way to look at it is to treat the records in the relationship directly as objects. In this way, it will be easier and more straightforward to understand the concept of persistence.
