Anbernic RG35XX SP: New refresh of popular Game Boy Advance SP-inspired retro gaming handheld revealed
Sep 13, 2024 am 06:33 AMAnbernic has been selling the RG35XX SP (curr. $89.99 on Amazon) for a few months now. To recap, the device features the same 3.5-inch and 640 x 480 IPS display found in Anbernic's other RG35XX devices. Additionally, it utilises an Allwinner H700 chipset, 1 GB of RAM and a 3,300 mAh battery.
In short, the unique selling point of the RG35XX SP among Anbernic's other products is its Game Boy Advance SP form factor. While the company only released the device in May,Retro Dodonow reports that a refresh is already on the cards. Specifically, the website claims to have received an image directly from Anbernic itself in which three new finishes can be seen.
According toRetro Dodo, Anbernic intends to offer these new finishes as Transparent Green, Transparent Pink and Transparent White. As a result, not only will the refresh expand the RG35XX SP's colours to seven, but it will also increase the volume of translucent options to five. Unfortunately, it is unclear when exactly these new colours will be available nor how much they will cost. Instead,Retro Dodohas hinted that Anbernic will begin selling them 'in a couple of weeks'.
