The most defensive positions will focus on traits that AI is hard to replicate: true empathy, creative vision, relationship building and moral decision making. The thriving marketers will be those who can create real emotional connections and identify cultural nuances that AI still misses.

Time is tight

Shopify's recruitment policy is the canary in corporate coal mines. The fundamental question is changing from "Can AI do this work?" to "Prove to me why AI can't do this work?". This re-explanation puts the burden of proof on the employees rather than on the technology.
