Welcome back to another Strands puzzle, dear Strandistas! We’ve got words to uncover and today’s theme is perfect for summer, taking us outdoors—where we should all be heading once this puzzle is solved! Let’s dive in!

Strands is the latest addition to the New York Times’ collection of puzzle games. It puts a fresh spin on the classic word search format. Each day presents a new theme, with players challenged to find all related words hidden in the grid, including a special spangram that connects two sides of the board. One of these words will be the spangram, stretching from one edge of the grid to the opposite side, further revealing the theme.

Today’s Strands Breakdown

There were quite a few words today, but most were short and straightforward. Knowing some fishing jargon definitely helps. Although I'm not an avid angler, I do know my way around the terminology. Funny enough, I found the spangram TACKLEBOX first—it was just too obvious to miss. From there, I worked through the rest: HOOK, LINE, and SINKER. Now I’m thinking about fish tacos. Maybe I’ll go grab some after this.
