ForbesToday’s ‘Wordle’ #1455 Hints, Clues And Answer For Friday, June 13thBy Erik KainHooray and huzzah! It’s Saturday! The day of Saturn—the one day of the week that honors a Roman god instead of Norse or Germanic deities. The early June rain has passed and now we’re in the mid-80s, which feels much hotter at 7,500 feet above sea level. The sun is intense. I need to remember to wear sunscreen or I’ll burn quickly.
That won’t be an issue while we solve today’s Wordle, naturally.
How To Solve Today’s Wordle
The Hint: Spooky.
The Clue: This Wordle features more consonants than vowels.
Alright, spoilers ahead! Here comes the answer!

Wordle Analysis
I use Wordle Bot daily to improve my guessing strategy. You can analyze your own Wordles using Wordle Bot right here.
BLOAT was an excellent starting word, narrowing it down to just 18 possible words with two green letters already confirmed. I couldn’t think of a perfect next guess using all new letters, so I tried four new ones in hopes of eliminating a potential tricky vowel. SHUNT eliminated every option except one: GHOST!
Competitive Wordle Score
Unfortunately, the Bot and I tied again today, earning us zero points. Both of us get 1 point for solving in three tries. Our June totals are rising slowly, but the lead remains unchanged:
Erik: 11 points
Wordle Bot: 8 points
How To Play Competitive Wordle
- Guessing in 1 earns 3 points; guessing in 2 gives 2 points; guessing in 3 grants 1 point; guessing in 4 is worth 0; guessing in 5 is -1; guessing in 6 is -2; missing entirely is -3.
- If you beat your opponent, you gain 1 point. A tie means 0 points. Losing costs you 1 point. Total up your score each day or play fresh each time.
- Fridays offer 2XP, doubling your point value—good or bad.
- Track scores over time or just enjoy each day individually. Have fun!
Today’s Wordle Etymology
The word ghost originates from Old English gāst, meaning "spirit" or "soul." It shares roots with Old High German geist, also meaning spirit, and likely traces back to a Proto-Germanic root gaistaz. Its ultimate origin is unclear, but it may connect to the concept of breath or life force.
