'Fortnite' Is Getting A New, Fast-Paced Battle Royale Mode This Week

It’s named Fortnite Blitz Royale. At the moment, we don’t have a lot of information beyond what Epic Games has revealed in a few tweets. It's described as a more fast-paced version of Battle Royale that will be accessible across all platforms with cross-play support. According to Epic, it features "a rogue-like design specifically crafted for mobile play."
When Does Fortnite Blitz Royale Launch?
Another fascinating detail is that Epic mentioned each Fortnite Blitz Royale match will last about five minutes, compared to the usual 20-25 minutes for a regular BR game.
This shorter format could work well for mobile players, fitting the quick bursts of gameplay that suit such devices. According to Fortnite leaker iFireMonkey, Blitz Royale matches will feature 32 players instead of up to 100. It's probable that the matches will occur in a smaller area as well.
We won’t need to wait too long to discover exactly what Fortnite Blitz Royale entails. It’s scheduled to launch on June 18, as part of an update that will bring various new features to Fortnite Ballistic, introduce a brand-new game mode for Lego Fortnite, and kick off the latest season of Fortnite Festival.
