Created by Sam Esmail, Mr. Robot follows the journey of a gifted hacker named Elliot Alderson (Rami Malek). Elliot is the digital world’s equivalent of Superman: during the day he works at cybersecurity company Allsafe, and by night, he hacks those he sees as unjust. He is approached by an enigmatic anarchist hacker simply known as Mr. Robot and soon becomes involved with a hacktivist collective called fsociety, whose mission is to destroy global conglomerate E Corp (mockingly dubbed Evil Corp by the group).

Elliot ultimately joins the hacking crew, and events rapidly spiral into chaos. From that point on, the story takes . . . some truly unexpected and intriguing twists. If Fight Club had been more focused on cyber warfare than physical destruction, you’d have a rough idea of what this series offers. Full of surprises, deeply imaginative, and narratively complex, each season presents new layers of intrigue. The plot can be quite confusing at times, yet it remains well-crafted with a stellar ensemble cast. Just when things seem too convoluted, a new revelation pulls everything back into focus.

Christian Slater portrays the elusive Mr. Robot, a character whose real identity plays a crucial role in both the storyline and Elliot’s personal development. Carly Chaikin stars as Darlene, Elliot’s sister and a core member of fsociety. Martin Wallstr?m embodies Tyrell Wellick, a charismatic and mysterious corporate antagonist. Supporting actors include Portia Doubleday, BD Wong, and Grace Gummer.

Those who enjoy politically charged sci-fi and crave something original—offering commentary on mental health, near-future dystopian tech, and inventive storytelling—will find much to appreciate in Mr. Robot.

Adding to its brilliance is the remarkable original score composed by Mac Quayle, making this one of Netflix’s finest shows ever made. Honestly, I’m considering using this music as ambiance for a tabletop cyberpunk RPG. It’s been a while since I last watched the series, and now that all four seasons are available on Netflix, I think it’s time to revisit the entire saga.
