Deltarune is a retro RPG adventure that brings Kris and Susie into a Dark World full of interesting characters who will pose a variety of challenges that they must face with the help of their Darkner friend, Ralsei. As they go through their journey, they must fight battles, solve puzzles, and uncover the mysterious story ahead of them.
Much like the previous chapters of Deltarune, there are secrets that can be uncovered by successfully overcoming the hardest challenges. In chapter three, there is a minigame that can be played using a console in a secret room. Beating it completely will reward you with a powerful piece of armor.
How To Find And Unlock The Third Minigame
In chapter three, a talking television named Tenna will have you participate in his game show, “It’s TV Time". This game show has rounds where you play a variety of challenges that will earn you points. At the end of each round, your points will be tallied and you will be given a rank. Each rank will give you a specific reward, with the best reward given to those who are able to reach the coveted S-rank.
When you reach S-rank, you will be able to enter the room exclusively for S-rank participants. The door to this room is next to Ramb’s store and is marked with a large letter S. Going through this door will lead you to a special area for those who make it through Tenna’s challenges with flying colors. At the west end of the area is a door leading to a room with a console game that you can play.
receive a special item. After playing the second minigame, you can progress the story to begin the bonus round. While playing the bonus round, plenty of Tenna’s employees will abandon him. When he’s got no one left, you’ll be able to return to the Green Room. This will be empty, but you can still enter the S-rank room.
Go to the console again to start up the third minigame.
How To Level Up In The Third Minigame
Much like the first two minigames, you need to look for a sword to level yourself up. This time, you will have Susie and Ralsei with you in the game. Go south and turn right at the intersection until you see an area where a section heading east is being blocked. Go all the way south again until you reach the very bottom. From there, head east until you find a staircase leading underground.
You’ll find a sword in the next room. When you pick it up, you’ll be transported back to the area with a barrier. There are no enemies in this location, so you need to attack Ralsei and Susie instead to level up. After that, your level will be high enough to break the barriers.
Go all the way to the east until you find a manhole. Jump in to enter the next location. This time, there will be enemies in the different rooms. You will need to defeat every single one to reach the maximum level and get past the trees blocking an area in the east.
How To Beat The Shadow Mantle After you defeat all the enemies in the area, you will be strong enough to cut down the trees in the southeast. Go east and you will find Tenna talking to himself. You will need to attack him to get past. After that, keep going along the path until you can no longer move forward. When that happens, you will trigger a boss fight against the Shadow Mantle.
This fight is a challenging one with four phases. You will need to attack the Shadow Mantle with your sword while also dodging its various attacks.
Shadow Mantle Fight Phase One For the first phase, the Shadow Mantle will have two moves. In its first move, it will plant three bombs in different sections of the arena. Each will explode at different periods, striking everything directly north, south, east, or west of it. It’s better to stay away from cramped spaces during this phase.
Shadow Mantle Fight Phase Two The second phase of the fight has two moves as well. In the first, the Shadow Mantle will come down at you in meteor form from above. Dodge it four times to trigger its next move.
After the meteor move, the Shadow Mantle will settle somewhere in the arena and start laughing. Hit it as many times as you can, and it will summon cats that will chase you. Some of these will drop candy for healing. You can hit them with your sword to destroy the cats.
Shadow Mantle Fight Phase Three
The third phase of the fight has several moves. It will repeat the attacks in the first phase, but it will be more challenging. There will be four bombs instead and they will be much speedier. It will also have five flaming rocks instead of three.
The Shadow Mantle will also summon cats to chase you in this phase. They may still drop green candy for healing, so this is a useful attack for regaining health. It will also perform the meteor attack in this phase if you haven’t defeated it by this point.
Shadow Mantle Fight Phase Four
Phase four has two moves. The first is a spinning flame attack where the Shadow Mantle will have three lines of flames that extend until the edges of the arena. Move in the direction of the flames to avoid them. After some time, the Shadow Mantle will be dropping bombs like in the first phase.
After the flames have died down, it will turn into a meteor again like in the second phase, but it will come at you much faster. While it is white, you won’t be able to hit it. You need to attack it when it is black as it comes at you in meteor form. After a couple of hits, you will have beaten the Shadow Mantle.
After beating it, the next room will have a chest. Have your sprite exit the game through the path on the right and change places with Kris. Kris will be able to open the chest and receive the Shadow Mantle. This armor is powerful and will allow the wearer to stay standing against an attack by the Roaring Knight.
