How to use Star Fragments in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

In Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom you can Fuse Star Fragments with weapons or shields, upgrade armor pieces, sell them to Traders for Rupees, or even use them as glowing light sources!

Fuse to a Weapon

You can Fuse a Star Fragment to any melee weapon to create a weapon that fires beams of light. These beams extend far ahead of Link, making this ideal for navigating dark areas or traveling through Hyrule at night.

Fuse to a Shield

Fusing a Star Fragment to your shield doesn't significantly improve its durability but does turn it into a glowing light source. This makes Link look like a walking lantern, which is handy when exploring deep dungeons or other dark locations.

Upgrade Armor Pieces

This is where Star Fragments become especially useful. When upgrading certain armor sets by speaking to a Great Fairy, you'll be required to bring along Star Fragments, Rupees, and other materials. It’s definitely worth upgrading frequently used armor whenever possible.

Sell to Traders

How to catch Shooting Stars in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

To obtain a Shooting Star in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you must first spot one. The appearance of Shooting Stars is quite random—you might see many in one session, or none over several sessions. Because of this unpredictability, we strongly recommend trying to catch one as soon as you see it.

When you do spot a Shooting Star, there are two methods to collect it. One is to wait until it lands. Once it hits the ground, it creates a tall beam of light reaching into the sky. If you reach the location quickly enough, you can pick up the Star Fragment. But be warned—they vanish fast.

The second method is catching the Shooting Star mid-air while skydiving or paragliding. If you're airborne when the star appears, tilt Link in its direction and press 'A' to grab it before it reaches the ground.
