Jun 17, 2025 am 10:57 AMJust like in BOTW, you'll find yourself quickly running out of inventory space in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. With all the loot you’ll collect from shrines and your search for top-tier armor sets, you’ll be eager to find any way possible to expand your inventory.
Expanding your inventory is a lengthy process, and only the most dedicated players will reach the maximum limit. Still, it's something you'll wish you had focused on earlier—Hyrule is packed with countless Swords, Shields, and Bows.
With that in mind, here’s how to expand your inventory in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

How to increase your inventory size in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
In order to expand your inventory in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you must trade Korok Seeds with Hestu.
Once you've gathered the seeds, you need to exchange them with Hestu, a massive Korok who appears periodically throughout your adventure.
When you first arrive in Hyrule, Link can only carry a limited number of items. Specifically, he starts with space for nine Weapons, four Shields, and five Bows. But after multiple visits to Hestu—and many hours spent tracking down Korok Seeds—you'll eventually have room for an enormous arsenal.
Trading Korok Seeds to Hestu is the sole method of expanding your inventory. While it may be tempting to neglect lost Koroks or play tricks on them, a better idea is helping them reunite with their friends. This often rewards you with two Korok Seeds at once, saving you from having to hunt them individually.
Keep in mind, though, that Hestu increases the seed cost for expanding each pouch after a few upgrades. For example, the first weapon slot expansion costs just one seed, but the second will require two. However, this scaling is per pouch. If you’ve upgraded your weapon pouch five times but haven’t touched the shield pouch, expanding the shield pouch will still cost only one Korok Seed.
Best of luck collecting those Korok Seeds. And if you want to know more about Link’s journey in Hyrule, visit our Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom walkthrough.
