Hestu location in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

The initial place where you can find Hestu in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is located in the Hyrule Ridge area, close to Lindor’s Brow Skyview Tower. The easiest way to reach there is by exiting Lookout Landing’s tower and gliding westward. Bring an Energizing Elixir or stamina-enhancing dish so you can glide longer and cover more distance.

At the foot of Lindor’s Brow, you'll find Hestu hiding near a cave entrance. He explains his fear if you speak to him — two seemingly ordinary trees just a few meters away. These trees become hostile when you approach them.

Use a strong weapon—like a sword or axe—to defeat them. It should take around four hits, but be ready to dodge when the tree pulls back slightly. It will slam its trunk down, dealing heavy damage.

After defeating the tree monsters, they revert to normal logs, so feel free to chop them up for extra wood bundles before speaking with Hestu again.

Hestu is very thankful when you return and offers to upgrade your inventory in exchange for Korok Seeds. Though he mentions 'pouch' singular, you can choose any of your three pouches for expansion.

Hestu does a small dance after receiving a seed, and you gain one inventory slot at the end. He stays at the same spot until you offer him a second Korok Seed. After that, Hestu says he’s heading east toward more populated areas.

While most of Hyrule lies 'east' of Hyrule Ridge, you won’t need to travel far to find Hestu again. Return to Lookout Landing, and you’ll see Hestu standing near the southern gate of the settlement.
