Lies Of P: Overture - Goddard, The Blind Painter Quest Walkthrough
Jun 17, 2025 pm 02:05 PMOne of the more mysterious but simple sidequests in Lies of P: Overture involves the blind artist, Goddard. While locating her is straightforward, the quest itself offers little clarity and doesn’t clearly outline objectives for players to follow during their time in the DLC.
As you gather the necessary items to advance the quest, you must return them to Goddard and select the appropriate dialogue choices to achieve the best ending. Naturally, understanding what to do with Goddard’s reward is just as ambiguous as the woman’s artistic perspective. So we’ve sorted it out so you don’t have to.
Where To Find Goddard, The Blind Painter
Goddard is someone you’ll likely encounter naturally on your first playthrough. She resides in the Carnival area, specifically at the very end, right beside the tram that transports you further into the DLC.
When you get close, she will call out to you. Follow her voice to locate her seated in a wheelchair at the far end of the station.
To kick off her quest, respond to her request for help retrieving her canvas. This item is easy to spot, as it lies on the ground directly in front of her.
Pick it up and place it back on the easel. Once done, accept her gratitude, and she’ll ask a question that will influence how this quest concludes:
Incredible! It's a brilliant piece of art. (Lie) | Goddard agrees and compliments your "good eye." You will **gain Humanity**, and the **questline will continue below.** |
---|---|
It is just a blank canvas. (Truth) | Goddard claims you're absurd and tells you to leave her alone. This halts her questline entirely, and you will be **unable to proceed.** |
Where To Find Goddard's Art Supplies
Goddard never explicitly asks you to find her art supplies, meaning you either stumble upon them or discover their importance through a guide—which is exactly why we’re here.
You can find them on a table near the shortcut leading down to the Two-Faced Overseer inside the Zelator Underground Facility.
You can access this section by:
- Defeating Veronique
- Shutting off the coolant
- Unlocking the fourth Stargazer location within the Zelator Underground Facility
- Descending the staircase to the right of the Stargazer
Once you collect the Art Supplies, bring them back to Goddard at the tram station.
She'll thank you with a Dim Ergo Chunk, but there’s nothing else to do now. Her quest will naturally move forward as you continue playing through the DLC.
What To Do With Goddard's Painting
The ideal place for any painting is somewhere visible. Return to Eventide Krat Hotel, and head toward the door leading to the practice garden from the Stargazer area.
On the right wall, where Venigni and the Legion Arm machine are typically located, there should be an empty space beneath the light fixture. Approaching that spot will automatically initiate a cutscene where the painting is placed on the wall.
After finishing the DLC and defeating the final boss, return to the present timeline. Head to the modern-day Krat Hotel and approach the painting.
Interact with it, and the colors will refresh and brighten. This will cause you to gain Humanity.
