Blue Archive places you in the role of a Headmaster tasked with supporting and improving the lives of students. To achieve this, you’ll need to recruit new characters through the gacha system. Knowing how it functions can guide your choice on which recruitment banner to use.

Students fulfill various roles in battle, so aiming for the strongest ones is ideal. If you're after a specific character, you can purchase Recruitment Tickets. Alternatively, if you prefer not to spend real money, you can use Pyroxenes on either Regular or Pick-Up banners.

Regular Recruitment

This is the default banner, always accessible, and also features characters from the current Pick-Up banners. However, not all limited characters are included here. The chance of pulling a three-star student is around 0.026 percent, while two-stars have a 0.84 percent chance, and one-stars come in at 4.4 percent.

As you draw from this banner, you'll earn points, and after 200 pulls, you can select any limited character from the pool. Pyroxenes are required for each pull, costing 120 Pyroxenes per draw.

Pick-Up Recruitment

These banners are likely where you'll focus most of your attention since they offer a better chance of obtaining the featured limited-time character. The probability of getting the highlighted three-star character is 0.7 percent, though you may also receive standard characters based on their usual drop rates from Regular Recruitment.

Selective Recruitment

Selective Recruitment only features three-star characters—the highest rarity available in Blue Archive. This method isn't free, and instead of using Pyroxenes, you must use Choice Tickets. Each ticket allows you to directly pick any three-star character you want.

Unlike other systems, Selective Recruitment does not use a point system, meaning you can’t repeatedly spend tickets hoping to collect multiple characters. You can, however, use Choice Tickets straight from your inventory.

3-Star Guaranteed Recruitment

With a single Three-Star Guaranteed Recruitment Ticket, you can recruit ten students. As the name implies, you’re assured at least one three-star student, along with some one- and two-star characters.

Similar to Regular Recruitment, you accumulate points with each pull, allowing you to claim additional characters once you reach 200. On your tenth draw, you have approximately an 0.87 percent chance to obtain any available character.

You can obtain these tickets either as rewards or by purchasing them. A StartDash Three-Star Ticket costs 13.94 USD.
